Passed away peacefully after a brief illness on November 1st , 2019 at 89 years of age. Reunited with his beloved wife of 51 years, Geraldine (nee LaRocque, 2010). Russell will be deeply missed by his girlfriend of the last eight years, Joanne Hebert. Will always be remembered by his children, Sue (Dave) Dumouchelle; Russ (Margie) Malenfant; Dan (Diane) Malenfant; Sandy Breitenstein (fiancé Norm McIntyre); Mike (Wendi) Malenfant; Sharon Guarasci. Cherished Pepe of Dana (fiancé Joe); Brittney; Kayla; Mitchell; Ryan (Amy); Lindsay (Casdin); Cody (Carlie); Ashley (Andrei); Justin; Courtney (D.J.); Austin; Blain (Taylor); Dylan; Brandon; Cameron; Adam; Jacob; Sarah. Dear Great Pepe of Makenzie; Rowan; Isla; Aria. Predeceased by parents Archangel and Thomas Malenfant; siblings Marie Genette; Norman (Dorothy) Malanfant; Gladys (Fred Steirs and Cecil Beckerson); Fran (Al Langlois and Bruce Hamilton); Evelyn (Joe Boismier); Janette (Ray Reaume). Survived by sister-in-law Dorothy Malenfant (Hank 2013); brother Don (Lorraine) Malenfant; sister-in-law Babette Malenfant (Ron 2016). Dear brother-in-law of the late Bishop Eugene LaRocque; Dr. Raymond (Jay) LaRocque. Survived by sister-in-law Edna LaRocque(Ben 2012), Bernadette Morand (Reg 2018). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Russell enjoyed playing cards; gambling; fishing; and watching sports. He was a member of the Windsor Men’s Euchre League for over 60 years. A lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council 4386, and a longtime usher at Christ the King Parish. Russell worked for Prudential Assurance Company of England approximately 35 years. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus, including Drs. Naidu; Bergeron; Johnson; Sijan; Warwaruk, and Hospice Windsor, where Russell spent his final days. If you so desire, donations can be made to Hospice of Windsor. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. On Thursday, November 7, family and friends are welcome to gather at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 4401 Mount Royal Drive, at 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
