Obituary for Adoni "Tony" Anastasopoulos

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Pappou, Adoni “Tony” Anastasopoulos. Adoni passed on June 6th, 2021, at the age of 64. He was born on February 1st, 1957 in Tragano, Greece, to the late Panagiotis & Georgia Anastasopoulos. He was a beloved brother to the late Paraskevi, Joanna (George) of Windsor, Nikos (Georgia), Vasilis and Maria of Greece.

Adoni left Greece and immigrated to Canada in 1976 where he met and married Niki (Zakka). Together they created a beautiful life with 43 years of marriage where he was blessed to become a father to Georgia and husband Stephen Seifert & Peter. Adoni was especially proud as a grandfather of Anthony & Michael. They were his pride and joy and the memories they shared will be cherished forever.

Adoni was a dear son-in-law to the late Konstadinos & Joanna Zakka, a loved brother-in-law to Maria (John) Vlachos, Haitho (John) Gianakou & Popi (John) Mitala. He will be remembered by his nieces and nephews, cousins, koumbari and countless friends from Greece, Germany and Canada as well as the Greek Community of Windsor, as he was a faithful member of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church.

Adoni was a kind, humble and generous man that loved life and lived it to the fullest. He opened his home to everyone as he had a passion for bringing people together, along with a profound love for visiting his home country, Greece. His memory will be eternal, and he will forever live in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church.

On Thursday, June 10, 2021, reservations are required to attend visitation from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., Windsor. There will be a funeral service on Friday, June 11th at 11:00 am at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
