Obituary for Agapito "Pete" Mosca

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Agapito on October 12, 2023 at 93 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Olimpia (1996). Loving father of Bernard (Olga), and the late Albert (2017). Dear son of the late Berardino and Angela. Cherished brother of the late Letizia Rossi (Antonio) and Clara Tacca (Giovanni). Treasured Zio of Cindy Marras (Peter) and family: Meaghan, Michael (Bal) and children; Carlo Rossi (Melinda), Carl and Joshua; and the late Dino Rossi (Liz). Fondly remembered by Albert Tacca (Jane) and family. Dearest friend of Paul Lesny (Lisa Mastellotto) and family: Inès, Saffron, Atticus, Montgomery, and Kipling. He will be affectionately remembered by many relatives and friends from Italy, Australia and USA.

Agapito came to Windsor in 1953 from Assergi, L’Aquila, Italy. He was retired from a long career at Chrysler. All who knew Agapito knew of his love for cooking and willingness to share his famous homemade focaccia, gnocchi, ravioli and fettuccine. He was affectionately known as a “Food Scientist” and was always ready to offer a cappuccino to anyone who came to visit.

He was an avid cyclist and at his peak he cycled 18,000km per year. His dedication to cycling brought him and his bike to Italy, Australia, and Florida. He cycled until his 88th year.

Agapito was passionate about his garden and his special dahlias.

He was well read and enjoyed taking his pen to paper to write personal letters to his friends and family.

Special thanks to the staff at Richmond Terrace, Amherstburg for their kind and compassionate care this past year.

If you so desire, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Visitation Friday, October 20, 2023 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish Prayers Friday 4:30pm. Funeral Service Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10:15am in procession from Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841 to St. Angela Church for Mass of Christian burial at 11:00am.
