Condolences & Donations

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. Thank You for sharing some of Mrs. Jenner's stories with me. Remember sometime to stop and take a moment over a cup of tea.

Hello Peggy, Sheila and families. Gord called last night to tell us of your Mom's passing, and we are very sorry to learn of your loss. Your Mom & Dad were good friends to my parents, and I was very happy about the companionship that developed between your Mom and my Dad after Mom's passing. I don't know if you remember the story about the woman who wanted to be buried with her dessert fork because "the best is yet to come" but I believe in this very much, and hope you do to. Bruce

Dear Peggy and Sheila: I hope that email is not too 'cold' a way to send my sympathy to each of you and your families, but I do want you to know that I was very sad to learn this morning that your mum had passed away. Unfortunately I cannot make it to the church to personally give my condolences, and wanted you to know that I am thinking of you, and so warmly rembering your mother. (Here is one particular memory, which Peggy may share: many years ago (I think we were about 10) I told Peggy how much I loved your mum's accent, to which she replied 'My mother doesn't have an accent, but YOUR mum does.' Of course I said 'No she doesn't!'. Needless to say we went to Judge Debbie Zywina (the impartial bystander) who pronounced that we were both right about the other mother's accent, but wrong about our own. I have often thought about this, and what it tells us about the way we see the world from 'our mothers' knees' - and how at certain times in our youth we regard our mothers as absolutely perfect in every way (as the mother of a now 11 year old daughter and a 13 year old boy I see how that shifts and changes!). But I did want you to know that I fondly remember your mum's warmth (complete with the lovely accent that was apparently inaudible to her kids!) and lovely disposition. I have missed bumping into Sheila periodically to get the update on her and Peggy. I am now helping my mum to leave 4419 Howard - her home for the past 56 years and the site of so many memories, to move into a condo at South Winds - she is in the Dominican Republic at the moment and will be very sad to hear of your mum's passing, to, so I know she would want me to send her love and sympathy along with mine. Please let me know if I can help you in any way, or have a coffee at some point as you put things in order - I'm at 258-5925 and would love to hear from you. Much love, Rose Lynne.
