Obituary for Angela Bénéteau (nee Cadotte)

Loving mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother Angela Bella Florida Bénéteau (Cadotte) passed away on March 7, 2023 at the age of 84.

Angela is predeceased by her beloved husband, Gérard Bénéteau, and leaves behind her children, Claude (Agnès), Nicole (Denis), Simone (Marc), Gilles (Lori) and Joël, fourteen grand-children and eleven and a half great grand-children. She also leaves her siblings Dominique, Rose-Marie (Reg) and Oscar (Marilyn).

Angela was happily retired from a long and fulfilling career as a teacher which was mostly spent at l’École élémentaire catholique Sacré-Coeur in LaSalle. She loved giving her all for her students and for the many new teachers who also benefitted from her mentorship. In retirement, Angela enjoyed many years volunteering with the Essex Food Bank, and as an usher at the Cleary Auditorium (Chrysler Theatre) in Windsor, and the Fox Theatre and Opera House in Detroit. Angela put her organizing skills to good use as a member of the board of the St Joseph Parish Chumettes for many years.

All those who knew Angela know that she loved helping others and opening her door to visitors, always with fresh baked goods on offer. She will be remembered for her strength, her creativity, her devotion to her family and parish as well as for her caring and community-oriented personality.

The Bénéteau family would like to thank the amazing staff and volunteers at the Windsor Regional Hospital – Metropolitan Campus as well as the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County for their care and kindness. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank her many friends and neighbours for their invaluable support over the years.
