Obituary for Armando Cervi

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, Armando Cervi at home on July 3, 2019 at 92 years of age. We take great comfort that he is now reunited with his beloved wife Letizia (2008) and his siblings, Frank (the late Carmela), Laura (the late Domenico) and Joe.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Rose), his daughter, Angie Pizzuti (Marcello), and the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Andrea (Joe), Stephanie, Nicole, Michael and Madison. He was beyond excited to recently hear of the upcoming birth of his first great grandchild and he will be a special guardian angel to our new family blessing. He is also survived by his brother, Antonio (the late Maria), his sister Maria (the late Benedetto) and his sister in law Ersilia and many dear nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by Mina Cervi and Kevin, Robert, Mark and Paul Catenacci.

Our father was born in San Pietro, Frosinone, Italy on September 30, 1926 and lived through both war and depression before immigrating to Canada in 1954. These hardships shaped the courageous and determined person he was. He lived his life with fierce independence, an unwavering work ethic and strong family values. Our fearless father always went out of his way to support and help anyone in need and was the epitome of hospitality and generosity. We will miss him dearly but take comfort in the fact that he is reunited with so many loved ones.

We would like to extend a special thanks to the Chidiac family for their love and support and also to his niece Anne (Nina) for her constant care as his health began to fail him. Thank you to Dr. David Scarfone for his care and kindness through all the years. We are forever indebted to Juanelle Boussey for going above and beyond to care for our father and assisting him to pass with the dignity and pride that was so important to him.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Ronald McDonald house of Windsor would be greatly appreciated.

Visiting on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 5:30-8:00 p.m. with prayers at 3:45 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. from Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841 in procession to Corpus Christi Church (1400 Cabana Rd. W.) for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Rest In Peace Dad.
