Obituary for Audrey Ollett

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Enid on September 8, 2012. Beloved wife and best friend of 67 years to the late Kenneth Walter (2009). Loving Mother to daughters Victoria Tape, husband Alan, Elizabeth Ollett-DeHoey, late husband Jack DeHoey, Christine Nantais, husband Peter, Patricia Roberts, husband Kevin, Godmother and cherished friend to Lyn Fordham, husband Brian. Cherished grandmother to Ken (Julie) Tape, Derek (Clarice) Novosad, Will (Ana) Tape, Nick (Jessie) Novosad, Kaitlin, Jillian & Sabrina Roberts and loving Great-grandmother to Emily, Connor, Michaela & David Tape, Thea, Jonah and Damon Novosad. Audrey spent many happy summers at the family cottage in Point Pelee, retired from Bartlets and Smiths Department Store along with other retail businesses and traveled with her husband extensively in Canada and United States with Florida and Hawaii being their favorite destinations. She will be sadly missed at our large family holiday dinners where Audrey & Walter reminisced over their wonderful years of marriage. Audrey will be also missed by all her friends at Huron Lodge where she and Ken / Walt had volunteered their time and efforts for over 20 years at the Refreshment Lounge. The family would like to extend many thanks to the staff at Huron Lodge for their devoted care and support during Mom's stay. Also a special thanks to Dr. Yap and the wonderful nurses on 2 North at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital who showed Mom such compassionate care. If you so desire, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Windsor & Essex Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday 12:30 p.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841 with Rev. Gloria Steacy officiating. Cremation to follow with interment of cremated remains at a later date.
