Obituary for Avitus D'Sa
Passed away peacefully after a short illness on January 26, 2024 at the age of 82.
Beloved husband of Norma for almost 50 years. Devoted dad of Jonathan (Andrea) and Jan (Phillip) Sharer. Proud Papa of Connor, Maeve, Joshua, Isabelle, and Rachelle. Dear brother of 10 siblings. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Avitus started his career as a Marine Engineer for over 20 years in India. He moved to Toronto with his family in 1988 where he was employed with the City of Toronto. Avitus retired in 2006 and moved to Windsor in 2021. He was a member of Fr. Paul Watson, Knights of Columbus Council 8919 and Rt. Rev. W. J. Langlois Assembly 1789 (4th degree). Avitus loved cooking! He could always be found in the kitchen making his favourite Indian cuisine especially, pork curry.
Visitation will take place at Families First Funeral Home in East Windsor on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 6 – 8 p.m. with prayers by the K of C at 7:30 p.m. Visiting will continue at Our Lady of Atonement Church on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
Donations in memory of Avitus may be made to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
