My sincere condolences to the family and friends.
I was a student/athlete/friend of Bernie's in the early 1970's to early 1980's. I was fortunate to build my friendship with him even during my university years as I'd come back to officiate at his volleyball tournaments.
The students at Harrow Senior Public School benefited greatly from his commitment and love for his job. He positively impacted many peoples' lives and we'll all be always grateful.

Our condolences to the family. Bernie was a giving man with a huge soft spot for children, athletics, coaching and teaching. He was one of the ones who made teaching the profession it is. Rest in peace Bernie.
