“Bill” Guglielmo Zarlenga

With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Bill Zarlenga on March 25, 2020 at 88 years of age. Beloved husband of Colomba Zarlenga (nee Marini) for 62 wonderful years. Loving and cherished father of the late Anna Mancini (August 2019) (Joe), and Jerry Zarlenga (Louise). Proud Nonno of Amanda Plarina (Daniel), Samantha Bilodeau (Daniel), Luke Zarlenga, and Bianca Mancini. Cherished Bisnonno to William and Alexander Plarina. Predeceased by parents Luigi and Berenice Zarlenga and in laws Antonio and Angela Marini, brothers Mario, Antonio, Umberto, sisters-in-law Maria Zarlenga and Angela Marini and brothers-in-law Ernesto Marini and Remo DiCiocco in Argentina. Survived by brother Frank Zarlenga (Dora) in Italy, sisters Maria DiCiocco in Argentina, Elena Ferrelli (Bruno), sister-in-law Ersilia Zarlenga and brother-in-law Nazzareno Marini. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Over the years Bill worked for Mathews and Conklin Lumber, Piccioni Brother’s Construction and Teal Manufacturing. He was a proud member of the Caboto Club. Bill built a solid foundation for his family as they were his pride and joy. He had a knack for his exquisite cuisine and baking; to making prosciutto, salami and wine, but his passion was spending time in his greenhouse and cultivating his vegetable garden. Everyone was impressed how he would nurture his seeds and turn them into amazing vegetables, after which he would share with his family and friends. Having his family so close he developed a special bond with his grandchildren and was able to create precious memories with them throughout his life. We are going to miss all the laughs, as he loved to tell jokes. Mostly, we are going to miss sharing a bite to eat with Bill in the ‘shed.’ We love you and miss you dearly. Rest in peace.

A special thanks to Dr. Rajan and his staff as well as Jason the pharmacist at West Tecumseh Pharmacy for all of their care and support of Bill over the years.

Donations to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

Private service entrusted to Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.
