Obituary for Blanche Marentette (Maure)

Blanche passed away quickly and peacefully on June 2nd, 2022 in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband, Frank (2002) and daughter, Janis (2013). She is survived by her children, son Daniel (Linda) and daughter Linda. Grandmother to Taylor Morrow (Alexandra), Larissa Luecke (David), Holly Marentette (Nate), and great grandmother to Mina.
Blanche was the last surviving member of a nice large French Catholic family. Predeceased by parents Gilbert and Valerie Maure, brothers Romeo, Leo, Bruno, Jerry, Roland, and sisters Florence, Irene, and Jeanne D’Arc.
Blanche was a lover of bingo, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays; she had an intense dislike of Mike Babcock and the Detroit Red Wings. Go Leafs! All who knew her would graciously describe her as “Feisty”, yes, with a capital F.
Many thanks to the staff at Seasons Royal Oak Village retirement home for the care and compassion they provided during Blanche’s thirteen year reign as the “bingo queen”.
A service to celebrate Blanche’s life will be held at Families First Funeral Home, 3260 Dougall Avenue with visitation on Monday, June 6th from 5-8pm. Visitation will also take place on Tuesday, June 7th at 10:30am until time of service at 11:30am.
To try and keep everyone safe, the family requests that all friends and family attending visitation and/or the funeral service wear a mask to protect yourself and others.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Blanche’s memory to the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland.
