Obituary for Bobby Bruce Chase

Passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024 at 81 years of age after a long courageous battle. Beloved husband of Sharry. Loving father of Terryll Chase, the late Karen Chase and Robin Chase. (Daughters mother Beverley Chase). Dear grandfather of Brandey Williams (Rob), Allante Chase, Mocha Nealy and Keneka Price. Precious great grandfather of Bly, Bria-Lee, Xavier, Aaliyah, Amia, Kenz’lee and My’Kael. Survived by step- children Serena Scott and her children Malachi, Elijah and Zachariah, Sudine Lopez (Martin) and her children Martin Jr., Angelina and Jazlene. Predeceased by his parents Charles Edward (North Buxton) & Bessy Elizabeth Chase (Harrow) and his siblings Charles, Melvin (Pete), Joyce, Winnifred, Deanna, Wayne and James (Tony). Survived by his siblings Lorraine, Lucille, Larry, Sidney, Gerald and Christina.

In his younger years he was an A.K.O frateman and an all around football player, who played offense and defense. He was a full back and an outside linebacker playing between 5-7years from 1958 to 1962. Bobby became the first African – Canadian Korean Martial Arts instructor in Windsor in 1964. He achieved a Ninth Degree Black Belt, teaching for over 50 years many of his students became Tae Kwon Do instructors themselves. He was employed as a Technician Service man for many years for the Ursulan Nuns, Woolco Department Store (Dougall) for 6 years, the Devonshire Mall for 14 years and retired from St. Clair College after 25 years of service.

Visitation will take place on Thursday January 11, 2024 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Visitation will continue on Friday January 12, 2024 at Heritage Park Alliance Church 2501 Concession Rd 6, LaSalle from 10 am until time of service at 11 am. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
