We are heartbroken to tell you that our dear mom Carla, lost her battle with cancer. She was the first- born daughter of Guiseppe & Assunta Viselli, respected sister of Ed Viselli and Darlene Viselli. Caring and devoted wife of Rocco De Santis. Always a guiding mom to Cynthia (Ron) Cunningham, Rocco (Elizabeth) De Santis, and Phillip De Santis. She was a loving nonna to Alexander, Grace, Nicholas, Gino, and Angelina. She is survived by aunts, uncles and sisters & brothers -in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Mom was very pleased to tell us stories of her boat ride to Canada from Italy when she was 2 years old. She loved to reminisce about her childhood home on Monmouth Rd. and her high school years at her Alma Mater; Walkerville Collegiate. She told us countless stories of how she roamed the Walkerville halls and neighbourhood with her dear friends; the 2 Judys, Sheila, and many others.
Fresh out of high school, mom began her banking career where she had a knack for customer service and excelled at sales. She earned many awards, accolades, and trips throughout her time at the Royal and National Banks of Canada.
Mom was a free spirit with a unique eye for fashion. She was funky, hip and chic who could always find a diamond in the rough. The last several years, mom was so happy to reconnect with cousins, friends and family. She did some travelling, loved whopper Wednesdays, face timing, baking lasagna and bread, reading romance novels, hanging out at arenas, soccer fields and baseball diamonds, thrifting, family movie nights, bus trips, but most of all relaxing in her recliner with Spazz the cat watching antenna TV!
We want you to know that mom did her very best to follow Dr’s orders and recommendations.
Her guiding light was always hope along with a Rambo inspired true grit.
We would like to thank all of mom’s Drs, nurses, and care team from the beginning to the end who continuously gave mom hope. To Fr. Pirt and the caring and professional staff of Families First, Heavenly Rest and Cramdons, thank you for helping us celebrate mom.
To all of our family and friends who offered kind words, food, company, texts, calls, flowers, rides and hugs we are so thankful and blessed.
As a final note, we know in our hearts that if mom was here her message would be:
To all those near and far,
Do all with love.
I’m happy and free,
Like a butterfly.
God Bless!
LOVE - Carla
