Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 17, 2019 at the age of 73 years. Adored and devoted wife of Giuseppe for 51 years. Cherished mother of Domenic Varacalli and wife Venessa (2015), Rosario Varacalli and wife Tina, Rosa Filippone and husband Enzo, and Joe Varacalli and wife Agapi. Proud nonna of Joseph, Michael, Alexia, Davide, Luca, Andrea, and Christopher. Missed by all her siblings in Italy and Australia and several brothers and sisters in law in Canada and the United States.

Carmela was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. Her simple pleasure was to cook large meals and then watch her children and grand-children eat. A person so selfless that even while battling cancer was always concerned about her family and their well-being and never thought about her health. When you walked into her house her smile would warm your heart and made all the stresses of life roll over your back.
