Obituary for Catherine "Kate" Warner

Warner, Catherine “Kate” Helena
Kate found true happiness by being with others, especially with her children and grandchildren.
Whether it was playing cards, finding the right puzzle piece, baking, traveling to Ireland and Disney World or listening to country music in the midst of a good old ‘kitchen party’… she cherished time with family & friends most of all. She was also absolutely ecstatic when ancestry.ca confirmed she was truly 100% Irish earlier this year!
Born in Portland, Maine on February 28, 1939, Kate immigrated to Canada in 1965 with her young family. She passed away on December 24, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved mother of Helena Perkins (the late Jamie, 2019), William (Lisa), Brenda Blair (Duncan), and Debora Anderson (Josh). Adored “Gramma Kate” of Rebecca, Sean, Evan, Emily, Shannon, Jenelle, Jaime, Tristan, Gillian, Nicholas, Aleyna, Alison, and Caitlyn. Throughout her 80 years, she touched people in so many ways; as a hard-working teacher, hospice volunteer, breast cancer survivor, movie-goer on girl’s night, or just as an out-spoken, stubborn and huggable “Aunt Kate”. She was the life of the party, captivating us with her creative sense of humour, and she will be sadly missed by family & friends across Canada and the US.

Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 11, 2019 from 1pm until the time of a memorial service at 3pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor 519-969-5841. Visit www.FamiliesFirst.ca to share memories or make a donation online. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation or to the Hospice of Windsor are welcome.
