Obituary for Christina Fraser (Varoutis)

Passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years on November 6 , 2019 at Hotel Dieu Grace Health Care, Palliative Unit. Beloved wife of the late John Rennie Fraser. Loving mother of Linda Dykes and husband Colin, and John Fraser and wife Charlotte. Devoted grandmother of Matthew and wife Kayla, and Stephanie Dykes. Dear sister of Mary Varoutis and sister-in-law of Jean Moffat and husband Arthur, Marion McKim and husband Max, and James Fraser and wife Margaret (all predeceased). Loving aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews of the Fraser clan.

Christina was born in Astoria, New York to the late Elefthereos and Anna Varoutis, proud Greek immigrants who made the United States their home. Christina met her future husband, John, in Detroit at a 1953 New Year’s Eve dance. They were married September 10, 1955 and made their home in Windsor. Christina was a founding member of Women’s United Christian Fellowship and participated in many local church activities. She later became a member of the Salvation Army, South Windsor Citadel, where she felt very much at home.

A Funeral Service to take place on Saturday November 9, 2019 at 11 am at Salvation Army, South Windsor Citadel (1201 Grand Marais Rd W.) Procession to Victoria Memorial Gardens to follow.
