Peacefully, on November 10, 2020 at 38 years of age. Beloved son of David and Lynne Hornby. Adored big brother of Allyson and husband Corbin. Best uncle ever to his darling Annie. Eldest grandson of Joan Hornby. He will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles and cousins in England. He was a loyal employee of Home Depot Windsor East for twenty years. Chris was a wheelchair athlete and played sledge hockey, basketball, and swam competitively. He was involved with Easter Seals and was “Timmy” ambassador in the early 90s. He was a dedicated supporter of the Detroit Red Wings and especially the Windsor Spitfires. Chris’ life was full of many challenges, but he always maintained a sunny disposition and never complained. He cherished his independent living, assisted by the ALSO staff. We are all better people for having had Chris in our lives, and he will be sorely missed by us all. Special thank you to the dedicated medical staff in Windsor and in Toronto who so kindly cared for Chris over the years. If you so desire, donations to the John McGuivney Children's Centre would be appreciated by the family. A private family service will be held. A celebration of Chris’ life will take place once Covid restrictions are eased. Cremation services entrusted to FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841.
