With profound sadness we announce the passing of Claire, 99 years young on January 14, 2021 peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus, her family with her in spirit. Predeceased by her loving husband the late “Jack” McLean (2007).
Claire is sadly missed by her 3 children and their partners, John and Sandy McLean (Ira), Marianne and Don Devereaux (London) and Kyle and Brian Farquhar (Toronto); close to her heart grandchildren Taryn (Steve Misajlovski), Ryan (Julie Druzinski), Kayle McLean, Karla Pacheco, Laura (Sasha Mitrovic), Callum and Kieran Farquhar; cherished great grandchildren Evan, Leana, Juliet (Misajlovski), Arabella (Pacheco), Vera, Milo (Mitrovic), Thomas, Ian (McLean) and Bennett (McLean); adoring aunt of the late Jack McLister (Kathe). Andrea McLister (Doug Boswell); all of these she loved and touched deeply.
The world is a far better place for having Claire been a part of it. For those lucky enough to have known her they would know this to be true. She was a proud nursing graduate (‘45) from the Grace Hospital in Windsor. For many years she was an active participant in the Windsor I.O.D.E chapter, Glenwood United Church and the Red Cross. Her gentle nature and good humour brought her many friends during her lifetime. None more cherished than her beloved bridge group. She enjoyed many years together with my father at their special place “the cottage A.K.A Tooth Acres”. She had a lifetime of good memories to hold dear to her heart. Most of all she loved her family. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Remembrance on Claire’s behalf, may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada on behalf of our father, The Downtown Mission of Windsor or the charity of your choice. Above all, consider a simple act of kindness as that would make her smile the most. Special thanks to Dr. Aktas (GP), the amazing PSW’s of St. Elizabeth Health Care, the caring staff of Kensington Court. Met Hospital staff: Dr. Meyer (emergency department), Dr. Zacharia (5th floor), Sarah and all the health care heroes.
A private family service and interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens Memorial Gardens will be held.
