Obituary for David Charles Cakebread

CAKEBREAD, David Charles
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, David, on April 21, 2024 in his 80th year. He left behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be cherished. David's daughters Samantha, Natalie (husband Andrew), Cynthia, and "favourite" almost daughter Caroline, along with his grandsons Callum, Nolan, Bryden, and Caroline's daughter Josephine were his world. David began working in the early 1960’s at Central Chrysler Plymouth jockeying cars, eventually moving into a long career selling Chrysler products. His passion for woodworking was evident in every corner of our homes - a true craftsman who poured his heart into everything he created. When he wasn't tinkering away in his workshop, you could find him playing bingo or a skillful game of cribbage, reading a good book and taking leisurely drives around town. He was also a faithful and loyal member of the Windsor Moose Lodge 1499. Despite being a big teaser, he would do anything we ever asked of him. We are eternally grateful for the care and compassion provided by the great staff at Sunrise Senior Living during his last year and a half. They truly made it feel like home for him. David leaves behind his sister Susan Pulleyblank, niece and nephews and was predeceased by his parents George and Yvonne, brother Peter and wife Linda, brother-in-law Bill Pulleyblank and former wife and mother to the girls Susan Cakebread. If you so desire, donations to the HDG Stroke Rehabilitation Program would be appreciated by the family. Memorial visiting on Monday April 29, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. On Tuesday, relative and friends are invited to join the family from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1:00p.m. at Families First 1065 Lauzon Rd.
