Obituary for Dawn Bowsher (Johnston, nee Chappus)

Passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband Robert Johnston (1981) and Douglas Bowsher (2002). Loving mother of Marc and wife Lynn, Matthew and wife Catherine, and David. Cherished step-mother of Barry Bowsher and wife Nancy, Paul Bowsher and wife Pam, Susan Dinchik and husband Mike, Lee-Anne Marshall and husband Doug, Doug Bowsher and predeceased by Patricia Bowsher (2020). Adored Grandma and Nana of Daniel, Brenna (Rob), Kara (Ian), Sean, Jennifer, Victoria, Anya, Michael (Jennifer), Steven (Lisa), Jeffrey (Desiree), Sarah (Aaron), Allison (Bruno), Jake and Lauren. Much loved G.G. of Mikey, Jack, Gwen, Emily, Brianna, Mason, Elliott, and Jameson. Also predeceased by her parents Marc and Navarine Chappus and sister Suzanne (Jim Simon) and the late George Bashara. Sister-in-law of Dick Kelly and wife Helen, and the late Beverly Pease (Lloyd). Will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews from the Simon, Pease, Kelly and Bowsher families.

Dawn enjoyed gardening, spending time with her friends, but most importantly she loved her family dearly.

Dawn’s family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to her many caregivers especially in the past few months.

If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Humane Society, Ontario Lung Association or a Charity of your Choice would be appreciated by the family.

Cremation has taken place. Face masks and reservations are required to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until time of a memorial service to celebrate Dawn’s life at 8:00 p.m. Separate reservations are required to attend the memorial service at Families First, South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave (519-969-5841).
