Debbie was a dedicated volunteer for many years in the figure skating community. She started out as a board member of the Riverside Figure Skating Club and committed her time to improving the experiences of local skaters. She was passionate about giving her time to young skaters in the Windsor –Essex area and Western Ontario Section. She was a founding member of the Riverside Competitive Bursary. She held various positions on the boards of Skate Riverside, Rose City Rhythms Precision Skating Club, Sun Parlor Region and Western Ontario Section. Deb was a Data Specialist at countless competitions from regional to national levels. “Mama C” was a team manager and second mom to many skaters over the years. She chaperoned and cheered on Jennifer Robinson and Tessa and Scott. She was loved by skaters and their families as she would do anything for anyone and if she wasn’t at home, she could always be found at the rink.

Debbie enjoyed her various administrative and receptionist positions at the Forest Glade, Clearwater and Downtown Veterinary clinics where she built numerous lasting friendships with the vets, technicians, clients and their animals.

Debbie thoroughly enjoyed working with the residents of the various housing co-ops that she managed and took pride in finding housing for people in need.

Deb loved to crochet, read a book and share her summer days with friends at “The Ponds” RV Park. She loved to shop, organize large and small events, a good chat with friends and family and cheer on her Detroit Red Wings. But most of all, she valued and looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and cherished family.

If you so desire, donations to a local charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
