Denis was a graduate of the University of Toronto. He was affiliated with the Redemptorist Fathers for six years; he withdrew from this endeavour prior to ordination. He retired from Prudential Insurance Company of America. He was active in insurance affairs; and moderated insurance schools for four years. Denis was also active in church and community affairs; school board (Whitby); Jaycees and Kiwanis (Kitchener); Kinsmen (Galt) in Calgary he was editor of the community news magazine (Dalhousie Digest); Local chairman of Provincial and Federal political panels; member of the finance committee for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary. In Windsor he was past President of the “South Windsor Seniors’ Group.” Writing poetry became a passion and a published book records his many musings. He had been a church lector since Vatican II; a Eucharistic minister since 1974. He was transferred many times by his employer, but always rendered services to the local community and church. His family was foremost in his life, followed by his church and his work. He devoted his life to these premises. He was noted for his unending sense of humour and always had a story to tell.
