Passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving Day, October 9, 2023 at the age of 47.

Cherished father of Ryan (Katarina) and Vanessa (Bryce). Beloved son of Burt and Lynn Stephenson. Dear brother of Lisa Verzosa (Michael). Uncle of Zachary, Christian, Matthew, and Ethan. Loving grandson of Shirley Trudell. Waiting in heaven with open arms are grandparents, Alvin Trudell and Alvina and Herb Stephenson. He will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Derrick was a graduate of Brennan High School. He proudly wore #62 while playing for the AKO Fratmen Football Team. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf and Detroit Lions fan. He enjoyed fishing, camping with his children, watching horror movies with his daughter and hockey games with his son. The greatest pride in his life were his children, Ryan and Vanessa. He would do anything for them and loved them both beyond words.

Donations in memory of Derrick may be made to the Windsor Essex County Humane Society.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering was held.
