Obituary for Donald "Don" Hoo

Passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife and family by his side on July 22, 2022 at 85 years of age. Devoted husband of Yvonne (nee Gaynair) for 61 years. Cherished father and grandfather of Deborah (Bruce, Courtney and Christoffer) Susan (Jesús, Alex, Orel, Cyrus, Sam and Carlee) Michael, Stephen (Mitzie, Christian), Kristine, Gina (Tom, Jacob, Dakota and Liam) and the late Peter (1965). Dear brother of Myrtle, Glen, Sheila and Janet. Predeceased by his siblings Dudley, Alvin and Joyce. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and friends.

Don was born in Kingston, Jamaica and immigrated with his family to Amherstburg, Ontario in the 1970s. He retired from Teppermans in 2002 after 25 years. Don was a dedicated family man. In his retirement he loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play hockey. Don loved to travel and was grateful to have created many happy memories with Yvonne by his side. He was also an avid fisherman. He enjoyed going to South Hampton to fish with his buddy Jamie and was a member of Parkwood Gospel Church.

A special thank you to his doctors and caregivers. He was immensely grateful for the compassion and excellent support they provided.

If you so desire donations can be made to the Hospice of Windsor or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Don.
