It is with broken hearts we announce, after a short illness, the sudden passing of our Mom, Nan and best friend. Donna passed away peacefully on December 30, 2020 at 85 years of age. She is reunited with her son Rick (2014) (Jenny) and survived by her children Randy (Julia), Jeffrey (Brandee), Amy-Beth (Jeff) and Maggie Leung. Nan’s pride and joy will always be her grandchildren Atticus (2018), Jeffrey (Cortnée), Jason, Dylan, Madison, Karlie, Lauren, Molly and Kya. Special sister-in-law to Anne and Chuck Holmes. Forever friend and Frankenmuth shopping partner to Carol Turner and family. Donna was born July 23, 1935 to Arthur and Edna Farrer and grew up on Felix Ave as a proud “West Ender” where she met her two lifelong friends Barbara Cunningham and Shirley Morel. Waiting in Heaven to start the Euchre tournament are her siblings gone before her Jack(Dolores), Barney (Vi), Shirley (Charlie), Raymond (Sherrill), Joan (Howard), Carol (Jimmy), Gary and Jimmy.
Donna worked for over 25 years at N&D Yorktown where she made many friendships that lasted a lifetime including MaryLou Arsenault and family. We are grateful beyond words for mom’s extraordinary care from all staff at WRH Metropolitan Campus. Dr. Howe, Dr. Ouellette and our angels on earth Amanda Drago and Kylie Murracas who provided our memorable virtual visits with Mom.
Donna was a devoted member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Sandwich Street and donations to their food bank would be greatly appreciated. Please mail cheques direct to the church, c/o 3305 Sandwich St, Windsor, ON N9C 1B2.
A private family ceremony has been held and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
