Obituary for Donna Marie Wellings (nee Nantais)

With sad hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Marie Wellings (Nantais) with her family by her side on January 15, 2023 at the age of 78 years. After many ailments and health issues she is now at peace joining her Mimi Marie Cecilia Elizabeth Bernard (1984), her mother Virgina Nantais (2007) and father Hilary Nantais (1993).
Donna was very creative and generous, always sharing her baked goods like her famous banana bread or cherry mini loaves and many crafts with her neighbours, family and friends. She loved visits from her friends and family to share hot tea and cookies. Donna enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren and getting to learn about their fun adventures - always reminding them to, “enjoy it while you can”. Her smile would always light up the room and her laugh was contagious. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones.
She leaves behind her dear loving husband of 60 years Gerald Clifford Wellings. Loving mother of Lee Ann (George) Dorey, Sheri Lynn (Larry) Koscielski, Michelle (Cornel) Miller, and Brian Wellings (Vicki). Loving Grandmother to Joel (Nicole), Ian, Aaron (Sarah), Jaeleen (Corey), Cecilia, Alex, Veronica, Cory, Zachary, and Jessica. Great-Grandmother to DeAndre and Evelyn. Dearest sister to Raymond (Helen) Nantais, Christopher (Sherry) Nantais, Darlene (Eriks) Ekmanis, Kenneth (2021) Nantais (Julie Lines), Joel Nantais (Colleen), Denise Markle (John Raskovsky), and Diana Webster (Kent Glugosh). Best friend of Aunt Pat Bernard. As well as several loved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors at Windsor Regional Met Campus 4c East, Palliative Care, Fr. Greg Bonin and Chaplain for all the special care and time she received during her stay and the support to the family during this difficult time.
Donations can be made in memory of Donna to the Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundations.
