Obituary for Dorothy Lake (Richardson)

There was great rejoicing in Heaven when the Lord called Dorothy home on May 10, 2023 at 96 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Fred (2001). Daughter of Alma and Jacob Richardson. Dearest mother of April Shields and the late Jerry Malendowski, Crys and the late Herb Stammler, Dawn and Wayne Ouellette. Cherished Gramma of Cindy (Shelly), Tom (Sarah), Wendy (Greg), Lori (Guillermo), Joe (Gianna), Katie (Patrick), Jamie (Melissa), Scott, and GG of 17 great grandchildren. Dorothy is one of 10 children, survived by her brother Gerry Richardson. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was active in youth programs and was the Captain of every ship she sailed. She was a Brown Owl and Commissioner of the Girl Guides, President and founder of the South Windsor Girls Softball League, an active member of the Paulin Women’s Fellowship, Women United in Christ and a long-time member of the Choir of Paulin.

A very special thank you to the staff at Season’s Royal Oak who embraced Dorothy’s huge personality and provided abundant love and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Windsor & Essex Humane Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
