Obituary for Dorothy Helen Marsh

Dorothy Marsh passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, at Hospice of Windsor, surrounded by her small but loving family.
Dorothy was 98 years of age and lived an incredible life. From humble beginnings she grew to be one of Windsor’s most recognizable senior citizens.
She was always impeccably attired, beautifully coiffed and into the office by 8:00 a.m. everyday.
Dorothy was a modern woman during the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s choosing to work by her husband Gord’s side developing their many businesses.
With Gord’s passing she continued working full time with her son until the age of 94 when her family convinced her it was finally time to retire and relax.
She spent her last four years developing her Bingo skills, she delighted in winning the jackpot regularly, playing the horse racing game, joining in with the sing-a-long, never shy about telling the musicians to “pep it up” because they were putting the old folks to sleep, and last but not least learning to play the guitar.
She used her managerial skills to the very end. Often reminding staff at her retirement home what was expected of them. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon Marsh (Nov. 12th 2000) and her loving mother Edna Britton (Nov. 15th 2000). She is survived by her only child Jim and his wife Suzanne as well as her two granddaughters and their husbands Kylie and husband Andrew Kiser of Washington D.C. and Rebecca Marsh and husband Sean Morgan of Seattle Washington. Dorothy was fond of her nieces and nephews and their families. She was a faithful member of Grace And Truth Chapel since 1958 where she developed many lifelong friendships. She was fortunate to have travelled the world extensively with her husband and then continued to do so with Jim and Suzanne and family. She lived a truly incredible life. We will miss her.
The family would like to thank Chartwell Oak Park LaSalle for the excellent care they provided to Dorothy over the last 4 years as well as Windsor Regional Hospital and Hospice of Windsor for the exceptional care over the past few months.
