Obituary for Dorothy Quinn

Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on April 26, 2012 at 83 years of age. Reunited with her late husband Frank (Bud) (2006). Beloved mother of Karen (the late George) Gurtins, Frank (Alice) Quinn, Kenneth (Sue) Quinn, Mary Ann (Jim) Smith, Diane (Fernando) DaSilva, John (Kathy) Quinn and David (Jennie) Quinn. Cherished grandma of Amy Rivard, Natasha DaSilva, Vanessa (Kevin) Wright, Ken (Krista) Quinn, Tiffany (Scott) Martindale, Dane and Adam Quinn, Lauren Quinn, Meghan, Michael and Matthew Cooper, Sean and Sarah Quinn, Ilsa Gurtins and Jacob Quinn. Dear great-grandma of 5. Dearest sister of Doris (the late Frank) Dayus, the late Albert Meyns and sister-in-law of Dorothy Martin, Fran (Marc) Larocque, James (Mel) Quinn and Maria (Gerry) Reaume. She will be missed by her extended family in Belgium. Dorothy was a longtime parishoner of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church as well as member of the Ford Blvd. bowling league, Mission Club, and recently the Seniors Euchre Club at Our Lady of Guadalupe. She is remembered by her family as a skilled seamstress who made beautiful quilts, knitted afghans and baking treats. Her family was the centre of her life and she shared fully in all of the significant events in the lives of her many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was well loved by her many nieces, nephews and faithful friends she was blessed with throughout the years. She is an example of loving service, humility and faith to all those who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank her special personal support workers from St. Elizabeth, CCAC and the staff at Amica, Hospice of Windsor and Sunrise Assisted Living. If you desire, donations to St. Elizabeth Health Care or Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.Visitation Saturday 2-5pm and Sunday 2-5 & 7-9pm.
