Hi Janet,
It is with deep sadness that I received your phone call yesterday. I am so sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful friend to my father during his time coming to the cancer clinic. His smile and reassurance brought comfort to both my parents on their visits to the clinic, sometimes twice weekly. I have no doubt that he will be missed at the clinic and indeed by us all.
Rita and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you deal with your loss and grief.From

I was so very shocked to hear that Doug has passed away. I knew Doug from the Cancer Centre where I work and he was a volunteer. He had a great smile and shared great stories about his passion for his Harley Davidson. He spoke highly of his wonderful family. His family at the cancer centre are going to dearly miss him.

Hello,
I had the pleasure of meeting Doug as a volunteer in the Windsor Cancer Program. He was lovely and always had a friendly word and helps endless amounts of people find the lab, work the kiosk, share a kind thought when they were having a difficult day and not feeling the best. I will miss his cheerful face after all these years. He truly will be missed. From

Dear Janet and Family,
My most sincere condolences to you at this sad time. You have many memories to cherish as do Doug's friends.
As a friend for many years, I can recall the fun times that we had together over a gourmet dinner. You and Doug were such a good team hosting. When talking to Bruce, he recalled the memorable times that he had with Doug, especially skating in our back yard ice rink.
Also, thank you for your support when Dick was in LTC and after his passing. Your duo cheery voices on the phone were appreciated - even as recent as last week.
With love and sympathy,
Marg

Dear Janet:
How fortunate you and Doug were to find each other and to share so many happy times with your family and friends. His passing is an awful shock for you and the family but how fortunate that he didn't suffer years of pain and suffering. You have so many wonderful memories to sustain you in the years ahead. As you were lucky to have Doug in your life, so he was lucky to have you. God bless you.From

Dear Janet;
I was totally shocked last night to receive the message from Donna about Doug's passing.
I extend sincerest condolences to you and your family in this loss. We had such a good visit at the Crazy Eight (Oct. 18th, I looked it up on my calendar). It was the first time I had the opportunity to spend any time with him and so enjoyed his company and the conversation. I feel blessed to have had that time with the both of you. I regret that I will not be able to get to Windsor on Friday for the service but please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Perhaps we can arrange to get together with you in the New Year.
Love, Mary Alice

John and I give our heartfelt condolences to Janet and all of Doug's family. We have had years of fun teaching experiences at St. Clair together, particularly his enthusiastic teaching of songs to ESL students. We have shared so many stories, birthday dinners, and laughs over the years. We will miss you very much, Doug.
