Dr. Gordon Mohammed Said Jasey, 90 years passed peacefully Friday, July 12, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Survivors include his loving wife Fay, children Dr. David (Julie), Jennifer, Dr. Gregory (Jasmine), Dr. Bradley (Dr. Kathleen) and Robbie (Kristi); ten grandchildren, Jack, Ella, Zidane, Aliya, Hazen, Douglas, Sarah, Rachel, Jacquelyn and Evelyn. Nephews and Nieces Hazel, Albert (late Sylvia), Water (late Melinda), Sidney, Gary (Neda), Mamie Kalliel (late Raymond) and Dora Crowther (late Malcolm). Predeceased by his father Said Mohammed, mother Amounie, brother Naif and sister Audrey. Niece Hazel and Nephew Dr. Moody Edwards.

Gordon Jasey was born April 13, 1929, in Kherbet Rouha, Lebanon to Said Mohammed and Amounie. The following year, his family immigrated to Canada and after a brief stay in Edmonton, settled in Nova Scotia.
Dr. Jasey earned his Doctor of Medicine at Dalhousie University in 1956 and began a family practise in Windsor. In 1957 he went on to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Victoria and Grace Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He completed postgraduate training at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford, England and returned to Windsor where he established his practice in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and earned a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1962. He continued to practice in his specialty until December 2018. Dr. Jasey proudly served as a physician and surgeon in Windsor and Essex County for 62 years.

Dr. Jasey was known to his patients, colleagues and nurses as a gentle, compassionate and caring physician. Although he worked in all the Windsor area hospitals, it was at Grace Hospital in Windsor, Ontario where he met his wife Fay who was a student nurse in the RN program. They married in 1965 and went on to have 5 wonderful children.

Gordon has been recognized for his service to the community: The National Order of the Cedar Medal (Lebanon), The Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship, The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal. The Champion Award from the Multi-Cultural Council of Windsor and Essex County and numerous medical awards.

The family would like to thank the Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus ICU staff for their compassionate and professional care.

The funeral was held Monday, July 15th at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841 and interment took place at Windsor Memorial Gardens following the service.
