It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beloved father Edwin Prentice (Eddy, Scouter Ed and our very own Santa). Pre-deceased by wife Sharon Prentice (née Halford) for 48 years. Father of Robert Prentice (Gail), Edwin (Little Eddy), Lisa Beauregard (Mike), Scott Prentice, Kelly Primeau (Rob), and Jodie Prentice. Loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Loved by many brothers and sister. Special friend to Heidi Arneson and family. Dad has been an entertainer for over 60 years all over North America. He was a Scoutmaster for the 36th Scout troop in the Bridgeview area. Dad volunteered providing countless hours of entertainment to seniors and all those in need, and Ed also played Santa for many children’s Christmas parties. Ed was a very talented musician who was eager to share his gift to make many people happy. He was veteran with the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment, member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Royal Canadian Naval Association, HMCS Hunter, Moose Lodge, and Knights of Columbus. If you so desire, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. On Monday, May 3, 2021 reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend visitation from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. All are welcome to watch a LiveStream of the Celebration of Eddy’s Life from your home beginning at 2:00 p.m.
