Obituary for Elaine Christine Coleman (née Kerr)

It is with great sadness that we share news of Elaine’s passing. Elaine was born Dec 25, 1942, Christmas day, into the arms of her big sister May, and on July 22nd, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, Elaine was walked home and into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, and reunited with her beloved husband of almost 50 years, George (Bill) Coleman (2013).

Elaine will be dearly missed by her loving son, Paul and wife Colleen, grandchildren Hannah, Abigail, Gideon and Leah, great grandson Adam, brother Ron Kerr (Dinah-2007), sisters in-law Barb Ouellette (Frank-2017) and Donna Kerr (Donald-2008), brother in-law Ron Coleman, dear cousin Sharron Clark, as well as her many other very loved cousins, nieces and nephews, long time friends and her dear coffee ladies.

Elaine is preceded by her cherished brothers, sisters and in-laws. Jenny Adlam, May and Ray Gaul, Marg and Doug Shields, Adam and Shirley Kerr, Gordon Kerr, Dot Brouyette, Donald Kerr and Donna Wulf (Coleman).

Elaine spent many years as a Sunday school teacher and it was her greatest joy to share the gospel and love of Jesus with the children she taught. This was especially so with her own grandchildren. Next to her love for the Lord and her dear Bill, her grandkids were her dearest treasure. She invested so deeply into each of their lives and developed a special bond with each one building a strong legacy of love with them. Her loss will have a monumental impact but the Holy Spirit brings us absolute peace with the assurance that she’s in the presence of her Lord, enraptured by His glory and that she’s putting her love for song and dance to good use in worshiping Him.

Special thanks to the caring Doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus for their tender care and to the staff and volunteers at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County who did such an astounding job meeting all of our needs as we walked mom home.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.

Visitation on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 a.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
