Peacefully with her loving family by her side on August 18, 2022 at 91 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Smith (2013). Loving mother of Christine and husband Brian Muir of Calgary, James and wife Barbara Smith of Guelph, Joseph and wife Roma Smith of Calgary, John Smith and wife Ruth Lesins of Ottawa, Margaret Smith of Campbellford and Dianne Smith of Campbellford. Daughter of the late Roy and Mary Murray. Loving Grandmother of Colin, Michael (Natasha), Rachelle (Callum), Cassandra (Darryl), Wojtek, Alessandra (Artur), and Devin (Emma). Great-grandmother of Callie, Claudia, Natalia, Bartek, Alicia, Max, and Relia. Dear Sister of Mary (2005) Peggy (2006) and Patricia (2020). Cherished Aunt to many neices and nephews. Betty was a member of the CWL, and a longtime member of the Gingham Swing’em Square Dance Club, the South Windsor Senior Club and Fun Band as well as The Windsor Quilt Guild. Betty was involved with the Girl Guides of Canada for many years, acting as both a leader and treasurer. Betty’s love for quilting left her children and loved ones with cherished mementos and supplied many charities with comfort quilts for those in need. Betty and Gord raised their 6 children in a loving home where she remained for 67 years before moving to Campbellford, Ontario in 2017 to be closer to her three daughters.
