Obituary for Elizabeth "Liz" McHugh (Bethell)(nee Harding)

McHugh, Elizabeth (Liz) (Bethell) (nee Harding)

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 18, 2023, at 79 years of age. Loving wife of the late Terrance (Terry) McHugh (2022). Dear mother of Todd Bethell (Sylvia Neill), Gina Bethell (Laurent Rinn) and step-mother of Maureen McHugh (Jim Lilly), Kathleen St. Pierre (Michael), and Terilyn McHugh (Erich Tenzer). Cherished Grandmother of Casey, Nathan, Wesley, Katya, Ryan, Melody-Grace, Aidan, Jaimes, Charlie, Alec, Ian, Kailyn, Liam, Owen, and Logan. Predeceased by her parents Gordon and Sylvia Harding (nee Tempro). Loving sister to Anne Parsons (Dale) and Michael Harding (Sue).

Liz enjoyed a long career in several roles in the nursing profession. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Windsor, and she was a Nurse Manager for several departments for many years at Metropolitan General Hospital. After leaving Met Hospital, she worked as a Patient Advocate at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. Liz cherished her family and friends and made time with them a priority in her life. As such, Liz will be remembered as a loving and generous mother, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend, but also as a spirited and outgoing individual with boundless energy and a long bucket list. Her love, style, sense of humour, and unrestrained laughter will be greatly missed. Liz was a spiritual person with a love of life and a strong faith. She has brought smiles and love to many people and she will be missed by all of those who were fortunate to share time with her.
