Obituary for Emma Caporale (nee Anziano)

Passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024 with her family by her side at the age of 94. Loving mother of the late Mary-Lou (late Vince), Antonietta (Osvaldo), and Alba (Renato). Doting grandmother to Jeremy (Karen), Christopher, Andrea, and Nadia and great-grandmother to Tino, Lorenzo, Alessia, and Gabriella.

Dear daughter of the late Antonio and Luigia Anziano. Sister of Ines of Italy. Predeceased by brothers Mario, Aurelio and Mimmo. Emma will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Emma had a great love for God. She was a praying woman. Her life exemplified her faith. She was very charitable and giving to those in need.

Family was of utmost importance to Emma. She lived her life for her children. Mom made many sacrifices for her family. She worked so very hard, and provided Love beyond measure.

Mom was an amazing cook. Sundays will never be forgotten. You would find Emma in the kitchen, cooking her bountiful meals. Neighbours and friends would happen to drop by, once they could smell the aroma of her delicious sauce. Emma always had extra plates ready for unexpected guests, and they would leave with their bellies full and care packages to go.

Emma had an unforgettable SMILE. She could light up a room. She often sang or whistled to any tune, and our home was always filled with song. Mom could do anything. She had a green thumb, she gardened, she canned and jarred her own produce, and even found time to knit and crochet. Everything seemed effortless for mom.

You were a precious Gift from God and we’re so Blessed to call you MOM.

Emma was a proud member of the General Motors family. She worked at the GM Trim plant for 25 years.

We convey our gratitude to mom’s care companion (Lucia), who treated Emma like a mom.

A heartfelt Thank-You goes out to the staff at Huron Lodge for their constant, loving support of Emma. The care they provided was exceptional.

Donations in memory of Emma may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society.
