Obituary for Ethel Hitchen
Passed away surrounded by her children on October 20th, 2023. Reunited with her beloved Jack (2003).
Cherished mother of Joan Pocock (spouse Andy Torok), Dave Hitchen (spouse Janice). Loving Grandma of Jeff (Valdine), Chrissie (Jon), and Sarah. Adored Great Grandma of Landen, Irelynn, Kenzi, JJ, Ella, and baby due soon. Pre- deceased by her parents and all of her sisters, brothers, and sisters and brothers in law. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews in England and Canada.
Mum was born in Liverpool, England, June 21, 1931 and came to Canada in 1965 with Jack, Joan, and Dave. Ethel worked for many years as a clerk at Kmart. She was known for her beautiful smile, warm personality and her love of Cadbury’s chocolate.
We would like to thank the staff at Schlegel, St Clair (Amherstburg) for the love and kindness you showed mum over the past nine years. We will be forever grateful to you.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or John McGivney Children’s Center would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place. A private service will take place on Friday Oct 27th, 2023.
