Obituary for Evangelos (Laki) Boucas

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Evangelos (Laki) on January 31, 2024 at 89 years of age.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Calliopi (Popi). Cherished father to Bill Boucas (Betty), Irene Kalivas (Paul) and Angela Fraser (Chris). Pappou (Grandfather) to George Kalivas (Nektaria), Victoria Kalivas, Vagelli Boucas (Emma), Evvie Boucas, Alexander McMillan, Spencer Fraser, Mitchell Fraser and Carina Fraser. Pappou (Great grandfather) to Valentina Kalivas and Angelica Kalivas. Reunited with his parents, Vasiliki and Vasilios Boucas as well as his siblings, Xriso (late Panayiotis), Perikli Boucas (late Foto) and Xristo Boucas (late Vasilo). Survived by his siblings, George Boucas (Athanasia), Yiannoula (late George) and Koula (late Tilemaxos). Evangelos (Laki) will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Evangelos (Laki) immigrated with his wife and their two oldest children around 1969 and later had their third child together. Laki brought his cooking skills from Greece and was considered one of the best gardeners and chefs by his friends and family. He loved to entertain and enjoyed showing off his great cooking skills and he always made sure you never left with an empty stomach. Anybody that was looking for him, knew where to find him; in the garden, doing what he loved.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 7-9pm. Thrice Holy Himn service at 8pm at Families First South Windsor (3260 Dougall Ave. 519-969-5841). Family and friends are invited directly to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11am for service. Procession to Windsor Memorial Gardens for interment to follow.
