It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Fernando Rocha. Fernando was born on June 15th 1933 in Funchal Madeira and grew up in Lisbon. In 1967 he moved his family from Portugal to Canada where he had a very successful career as an instrument technician for the ministry of the environment. Fernando was a passionate soccer enthusiast who remained a loyal fan to the Portuguese Football Club Sporting and was proud to call himself Portuguese Canadian.

Fernando leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years Fernanda Rocha and his children Mario (Alda) Teresa and Joseph. Left to cherish his memory are his five granddaughters, Monika (Kevin) Julia (Mohamad) Kristina (John) Emily and Nikia. He was a loving great grandfather to Alexa, Yasmeen, Easton, Natalie, and Laila. Fernando was to become a great grandfather for the 6th time later this year. His caring, generous, and playful spirit will be missed by those closest to him and he will forever be in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
