Obituary for Francesco Piccolo

It is with deep sorrow and very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Nonno with his adoring family surrounded by his side. Born in Pietrafitta, Calabria, Italy on June 10, 1929 and called into eternal life on June 30, 2022 at the age of 93. Cherished and devoted husband of Ada, whom he shared 65 years of amorous marriage. Doting and loving father of George, Adriana, Marisa Taranto (Joe), and Diane Silvestri (Joe). Adored and dedicated Nonno of Adrian, Alexia, Sabrina, Giulia, Ava and Alyssa. Dear son of the late Eugenio and Rosina, and son-in-law to the late Giuseppe and Emilia Sirianni. Predeceased by his siblings Franceschina Giorgi (Emilio), Carmela DeNucci (Ted), Luigi (Catherine), Vito (Carmelina), Giuseppe (Annina), Maria Martino (Francesco/Adelina), Antonio (Maria), and Dora Fantin (Bruno). Survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, and Italy.

Francesco was a dedicated employee and worked several years as a Butcher for Brenner Packers Ltd. He enjoyed making homemade sausage, prosciutto and capicollo while sharing his outstanding talent with his family and friends to enjoy. He also had a passion for making both red and white wine, which he enjoyed occasionally with his dinner. After work, he spent endless hours in his garden and was especially proud of his fig trees. He took great pride and constantly received compliments from passerby’s about his perfect carpet green grass. He enjoyed playing cards and will be dearly missed by his long time neighbor’s Eddy, and Dominic.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Scarfone, Dr. Mazhar, and Dr. O’Callahan. A very special thank you to Huron Lodge for their outstanding attentiveness, compassion and excellent care given to our father during his residency, especially during the last couple of weeks of his palliative journey. Thank you dad for all your sacrifices. We love you and will miss you immensely. The void in our hearts will be filled when we meet again in Heaven.

Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
