Dear Uncle Sonny,
I remembered the first time I met you when I was 10 years old. The first meal we shared together was a steak that you were grilling at the backyard of Cadieux. That was the first time I heard you talk about food particularly what is rare, medium, well and well done in the steak world. The next two weeks of our vacation was a riot ! You kept our bellies full and made us laugh sooo hard until we ran out of breath! You got a kick of us believing everything you said. We sometimes never knew if you were telling the truth or not! We went to Toys ‘R Us and you told us to buy all the toys that we wanted. We picked some toys then on our way to the register you asked, “who is gonna pay for all of that”? All I remembered Nanette took home a doll that pees water and I got a Datsun 210 matchbox hot wheels car that has a key so when you released the key, it ejected and runs as fast as it could. I kept that toy for so long cuz it reminded me of you. Even though we lived 3000 miles away, we stayed connected and phone conversations were never a dull moment.
Now looking back, I realized that I inherited some of your qualities! I love food, but not left overs; I’m a “people person” but not the limelight; I enjoy laughter but, can entertain sadness. The one thing I will always cherish were the long drives that you did so we can enjoy our time as a family! Long distance driving rubbed on me cuz as a young adult, driving became my joy especially during nursing school.
I hope you will not pull a prank on mom and Bev cuz they will not survive! Please say hi to everybody up there.
We love you! Rest in Heaven!

You and the whole family are in our thoughts and prayers as we pray for the eternal repose of the soul of our dear friend, Freddie. May you be consoled by the thought that Freddie is now Safely Home, enjoying the special place that our Creator has for him, where there will be no more pain but just eternal Peace and Joy.

God bless and may God hold all of you in palm of His Hands,

We are extending our condolences for the loss of Uncle Sonny. He was like a big brother, sometimes like our 2nd dad like Uncle Boy when we were growing up in Cubao. Fun fact: He sponsored My first cigarette and my first bottle of beer! I can also remember that he was a great basketball player in high school and college at the university of the philippines (UP). He was known to be the legendary “Atchag”, frankly I don’t know the story about it but during basketball games his fans and friends would call out Atchag! Atchag! Perhaps his close friends can fill you in. The last time we saw him was in 2015 with my youngest son, Alison Bren. We had a great time reminiscing. Thank you Lord for bringing Uncle Sony into our lives! God Bless his next journey ....After Life! My daughter Audri will meet up with you and act as your “tourist guide”.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Sonny. We've known Sonny for close to 50 years and had memorable times in numerous get togethers in Windsor. We will miss his boisterous laughs and his never ending jokes. May he rest in eternal peace.
