Just heard about this Grand Lady's passing. She was a great friend to our family and an inspiring pillar in her community. Dear Debbie and the entire Steele family So sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. What a legacy and great memories she leaves in the lives of many who passed through the Brodhead sanctuary or refuge for many people who passed through those door. To me it was the coolest place to be. Having no sisters and only one brother the Steele Manor was a welcoming place. I had a blast hanging out in the girls room. Lots of laughs many had. Mrs Steele was like the cool mom and I’m sure she touched any ones heart who passed through. I know she helped and mentored many young lives who were hurting and needed a shoulder to cry on. She was the den mother to many lost cubs. There was always something going on in that house. Thank you for warm memories and many many laughs. And who can’t remember Mr Alton Parker always watching out for the girls. We were all blessed to have known Mrs Steele.
