Obituary for Garnet Edward Ryan

Passed away November 6, 2019. Beloved husband of Martha (Babs). Dear father of Brad Ryan (Cheryl), Minesing, Pat Ryan (Cathy), Belle River, Doug Ryan (Estelle), Tecumseh, Lynne O’Connor, Windsor. Dear stepfather of Judith Skanes Bannon, Kitchener, Jacquelynne Marchi (Jim), Windsor. Fifteen grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Claire Craig, Windsor and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Garnet taught automotive mechanics with the Windsor Board of Education for 22 years. He joined the Militia in 1952 as a drummer in the Essex Scottish Pipe Band. Retired 1982 as LCOL Commanding Officer of the 21 (Windsor) Service Battalion. Served as Honorary Lieutenant Colonel for 13 years of the 21 (Windsor) Service Battalion. Past president of the R.C.L. Branch 12, past Zone A – 1 Commander, past District A Commander of the R.C.L. and past member of Club 55 golf league.

Visitation will be held Friday November 8, 2019 from 3p.m.-5p.m. and 7p.m.-9p.m. Veteran's funeral Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Service Committee will be held Saturday November 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841
