Obituary for Gerald "Jerry" Clare Halliday

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Jerry’s passing on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the age of 89.

He was the beloved husband of 66 wonderful years to Jeannine (nee Parent); loving father of Michelle O’Kane (John), Jerry (Elissa), René (Donna), Claire-Anne Yancy (Marty) and Robert. He was the cherished grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a loved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Gerald (1996) and Gertrude Halliday (2014) and his sister Nancy Gall (2020). He is survived by his brother-in-law Andrew Gall. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jerry spent over 40 years in the tool and die industry and retired as a partner with Electromac Tool & Die Ltd.. He was a talented and handy craftsman where he spent many hours in his workshop. Jerry loved classic cars, playing aggravation and most of all spending time with his wife and family. Jerry shared his talents with his children who are his legacy. He was a dedicated member of the St. Benedict Tridentine Catholic Faith.

As an expression of sympathy, masses offered in Jerry’s name would be appreciated by the family.

Visitation will take place on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Families First Funeral Home in South Windsor (3260 Dougall Ave. 519-969-5841) from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. Visiting will continue at Our Lady of Assumption Church (previously Holy Names) at 711 McEwan Ave., from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
