Obituary for Geraldine Estelle "Gerry" Slavik (née Westbury-Lesperance)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of an amazing and caring woman “Gerry”, age 73, peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in her home just as she had wished. Gerry was born August 15, 1946 in Windsor, Ontario to Gladys (2003) and Sam Westbury (1998). She married Richard Lesperance in 1964 and had two wonderful children, and remained friends until his passing in 2000. She found love again with Steven Slavik and they married in 2004 and enjoyed several years together until his passing in 2012. Gerry leaves behind the loves of her life, her children Gillian Rocca (Adriano) and Aaron Lesperance (Diana). Gerry cherished her grandsons Lorenzo, Ottavio, and Matteo Rocca and Ryder Lesperance. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Justine Gibbs (2019) and fondly remembered by Stacey Wawrow. Gerry came from a close knit loving family she cherished, and leaves behind her sisters and brothers Dave (Sandra, 2014), Les (Debbie), Robin, and Lisa (Fouad). Gerry is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She had an incredible smile and was a beautiful, gracious lady inside and out. A true lady with style and grace. She leaves behind so many dear friends and family, especially her Sunday Church outings with Mary Ann and Gary Fathers. She loved those days and the comforts of the Rocca family dinners. Gerry worked at GM / Lear and retired at age 51 with 32 years of service. In her retirement she enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and loved to travel. Gerry had a very giving heart and loved to give what she could to those in need. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honour may be made to the House of Sophrosyne.
