Obituary for Gerry "Rev" Semande

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 72. Loving husband to Leona (nee DeLaronde) for 48 years. Beloved father to Erin (Geoff Stupple), Hillary (Chris) Adam, and Monica. Dear grandpa and “best bud” to Elliott. Dear son of the late Jim and Anne Semande. Brother to Don (Mary), Brian, Kevin and late Greg. Brother-in-law to Gerry (Nancy) DeLaronde, Anita (Chet) Brudz, Michele (Dan) Gagnier, Leonard DeLaronde, Ken DeLaronde, Liz (Dan) Marrin, Yvonne DeLaronde (Brian), Aime DeLaronde (Dan Chevalier). Much loved by many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

Gerry retired from Chrysler Canada after 40 years of service. He was the proud owner of a ’55 Chevy and involved in the Windsor Classic Car community where he made several lifelong friendships. A faithful and long suffering Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan. In retirement, Gerry became a custodian at his home parish of St. Paul’s. The family wishes to thank the PSW’s from Paramed and Bayshore, the nurses from St. Elizabeth, and the staff at the Y. Emara Centre for their compassionate care shown to Gerry and his family. Also a heartfelt thank you to family and friends for their prayers, support and “home cooked” meals.

The family requests that you don’t send flowers, but instead, make a donation in Gerry’s name to the Tranistion2Betterness or Windsor Essex County Humane Society.

Cremation and services have taken place.
