With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Giovanni Sementilli, on March 24, 2020 at 80 years of age. Cherished husband of Filomena for 58 years. Loving father of Stephanie and husband Gino Duri. Treasured Nonno of Vanessa and Nadia. Dear brother of Andrea and husband Lino, and the late Michele and his wife Ludovica. Predeceased by his parents Umberto and Maria Sementilli. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins in Canada, United States and Italy. Giovanni was born in Ripi, Frosinone Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1961. When he came to Canada, he worked at the Metropole Supper Club and later at General Motors Transmission, Local 1973, where he proudly retired 38 years later. During his time at General Motors Transmission, he also worked at Windsor Communications. Giovanni loved nothing more than being a Nonno to Vanessa and Nadia, along with making his wine, tending to his garden, and being with his family. A special thank you to the staff at Richmond Terrace, especially Krystal and Melissa, who he loved like his own. Thank you to the caring staff at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette. If you so desire, donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be held Friday, March 27, 2020 from 7:00-9:00pm at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. A private family entombment will take place at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
