Obituary for Guido Cirino

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and Nonno,
Guido Silvestro Cirino. Guido passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 13, 2023 at
the age of 80.

Guido lost his first wife and the love of his life Teresa Cirino (Giannotti) 26 years ago in 1997.
Together they had three sons: Frank (Souzanne), Domenic (Jennifer) and Joe (Rosie). Guido was
lucky enough to find love a second time with the late Lorenza DiLeonardo. Together, they lived
the rest of their lives as a family along with Lorenza’s sons Mario and Louis (Tina) (the late
Susan) and all of their grandchildren. Lorenza passed away only a week prior on July 6, 2023. As
our family has had to mourn and celebrate the vibrant life of Lorenza who was a much loved
wife, mother, and Nonna; we had to care for and say goodbye to the most amazing and loving
brother, father, and Nonno.

Guido was the proudest Nonno who never missed an opportunity to brag about his grandchildren
and express how much he loved them. They are thankful for the many years they had to love him
but are devastated by his loss. Aryana (Jonathan), Hannah (Joel), Alexia, Jalyn, Makenna, Duke,
Anthony and Makayla, along with Lauren, Francesco and Devon DiLeonardo will miss him
dearly. His grandchildren will forever cherish the memories they have with their Nonno and take
solace in knowing he is now reunited with their Nonna and able to share with her the endless
stories from the past 26 years.

He was the son to the late Francesco and Antoinetta and the most beloved brother to the late
Assunta (Carmine), Nick (the late Olinda), Joe (Assunta), Rita (Aldo), Mary (the late Nick), and
Teresa (Rick). Guido remained close to all of Teresa’s brothers and sisters and their families and
he will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews from both the Cirino and Giannotti
families. In 1958, Guido immigrated from Italy to Canada when he was 16 years old. He retired
from General Motors and when he wasn’t painting a friend or family member's house, he was on
the golf course or tossing pizza dough and cooking up his fabulous pizza with a side of spicy
tomato salad.

Guido’s family had very little time to prepare for goodbyes so we will be forever grateful to
Guido’s niece Maria Giannotti and the angels at Hospice for allowing us the much needed space
to shower Guido with around-the-clock love he deserved, stepping around a dozen family
members two nights in a row, and allowing him to be surrounded with the utmost love and
dignity at the moment of his passing. He will be greatly missed by countless friends and family
members.

A special thank you to Guido’s sister, Teresa, who helped with treatment appointments and many
visits along with his sisters Rita and Mary who sat with Guido when his children and
grandchildren couldn’t. We would also like to thank our many employers and co-workers who
allowed Guido’s children and grandchildren the time they need to spend with him and be
surrounded by loved ones as we go through this very difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Guido may be made to the Hospice of Windsor and
Essex County - Spiritual Care.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Families First Funeral Home from 2-5 and
7-9 pm.

Visiting will continue on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 9 am until the time of the service at
10:00 am at the funeral home.

Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
