Obituary for Guido Simone
Peacefully on November 11, 2022 at the age of 88. Loving husband of Oliva Mary (nee Rinna) for 65 years. Dearest father of Dave and wife Mary, Tony and wife Tyria. Cherished grandfather of Nick, Jake, Christopher and David. Predeceased by his grandson Bradley. Predeceased by parents Donato and Concetta Simone. Dear brother of Steve and wife Maria, and predeceased by John and Concetta. Brother-in-law of the late Angelo Rinna (Collette). Guido will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in San Valentino, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in the late 1940’s. Guido worked at General Chemical before his marriage to Oliva. Guido then moved to Dearborn, Michigan, where he raised his family. In 1975, Guido returned to his hometown of Amherstburg and worked until retirement from General Motors, after 30 years of service. Guido was given several commendations for his work at General Motors. In 1976, Guido built his family a cottage in Higgin’s Lake, Michigan, which is enjoyed by family to this day. Guido also enjoyed travelling to Florida with Oliva during the winter months for many years. At home, he was a talented woodworker, but was skilled in many different areas. He gardened, loved his pets and tinkered at many home improvements, but his biggest passion was to be with his family and dear friends, whom he loved.

Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
