The chef

I have many warm & fun memories of Ida. I'll  chose a humorous one.   Romano & Ida had come down for a visit after my mother's stroke. At that time we had a little Australian Terrier named Tillie who was diabetic & food driven. Ida was in the kitchen making supper [so my mother could rest] & had come into the livingroom for a chat while things were cooking. Tillie walked up to Ida & started barking at her non stop. Ida looked at Tillie & asked what's wrong. My mother answered 'she doesn't want you out of the kitchen until dinner is ready.' Everyone burst out laughing. But sure enough, as soon as Ida headed back to the kitchen, Tillie stopped barking.
